Hi,
I was wondering what the consensus is as to what the best book for the AP Lang. MC is. The CliffsAP book practice MC tests seem a little difficult; however, I have also heard that they are about on par with the difficulty of the actual AP test and that the Princeton Review book MC practice tests are actually harder than the AP test. Any thoughts/advice?

Kaplan’s is definitely a lot harder than the real one (I got about 15 wrong on Kaplan, whereas I only got 2 and 4 wrong on my two real practice tests).

According to my teacher,
Barron’s is the easiest
Princeton’s is in between
Kaplan’s is the hardest

If you have heard that Princeton’s is more difficult than the real one, then maybe try Barron’s?

Make sure to get a hold of the real ones (I think the 2007 and 1995 ones are sold).

According to my teacher, the best MC preparation book is by [DS Marketing](AP Test Prep | AP Study Guides | D&S Marketing).

This is the book that my class uses and my MC scores have really improved. However, I do own PR and REA AP English Lang & Comp Crash Course but I wouldn’t recommend REA for MC. More for an overview of the class.

Wouldn’t it be better to prep for the test with the hardest book? Because then when we take the test it won’t be as hard as the ones we have taken for practice. I would rather be really ready, than prep with an easy book and have a hard time during the actual MC.

Has anyone found that the Kaplan MC practice tests focus more on literary devices than anything else? When I took Barron’s tests, the MC was more like SAT critical reading (it was more so interpreting the passage than anything else). Does anyone know what the actual test will be like?
