Best AP Prep Books

This May, I will be taking 5 AP exams:

  • AP Physics C (Mechanics and E&M): I need a book that will actually teach me concepts, since I don't understand most of E&M
  • AP English Literature: I don't have much trouble with MCQ, but essays are rough for me. Don't know if I really need a prep book then...
  • AP Statistics: Already bought 5 Steps, but still interested.
  • AP Chinese: Can't read/write well.

What are the best books to study from for each subject? I’ve heard good and bad things about Princeton Review, Barron’s, and 5 Steps.

Barron’s is best for AP Stat. I have many friends who recommend it 10/10

For Physics C, PR works well and covers all the content you will need for the exam in-depth along with ample MC and FRQ practice. For Chinese, I use the Barron’s book. It has practice for each of the sections of the exam as well as vocab lists, grammar structures, and a detailed overview of cultural information to integrate into your writing.
