What is the best science/ math related AP to self study in freshman year? any good social studies ones? Have any of you had past experience?

Self-study the ones you’re interested in. You’re more likely to do well.

But if you really want suggestions, AP Environmental Science is extremely doable and would be very helpful alongside ninth-grade biology (which I assume you’ll take). AP Human Geography would be good as well, just because it’s so straightforward, and it’s usually taken by lowerclassmen anyway. GL. :)

I would also suggest Environmental. If you’re on a higher track (say, algebra 2), you can also take Stats.

AP Bio would be my third suggestion, but you might not be used to the workload, which will cause you to suffer. Your grade too, but that’s secondary.

The Social Study one that I recommen is Human Geography. A lot of my friends say that their teacher wasnt that good but since the class was pretty easy they did well on the AP test.

Personally, Ive never self-studied, but from the classes I have taken, I think Stats and Chemistry are do-able…especially if you also compete in Chemistry competitions which really help.

It’s not science or math, but English Language is so easy. It doesn’t actually take any studying. I took the test after an hour of preparation the night before and think I did reasonably well.

Don’t do chemistry.

A lot of schools won’t offer credit to students who don’t take the class, because they miss important labs.

Is it necessary to know Alg 2 for stats?

Don’t bother self-studying freshman year. Just adapt to high school. There’s no need to self-study unless your school drastically restricts the number of APs that you are allowed to take, and even then, if you still take a rigorous courseload, no one will care if you self-studied or not freshman year.

Yeah there’s really no need to self-study freshman year but… Human Geography, Environmental Science and Psychology aren’t that difficult from what i’ve heard.

I agree with Harambee, choose from one of those three. Don’t do a laboratory science (Bio, Chem, or Physics) and don’t do a major history subject (World, Euro, U.S.) as those require a lot more time and guidance.
