Hi,
Next year I am planning to take AP Psychology and AP USH (with a teacher), and self-studying for AP English Lit, AP Spanish Language and Culture, and AP Env. Science. I was wondering what the best test prep books were. Also, I think that for the ones I’m self studying for should be much more in depth.
Thank you!
For APES AND APUSH and maybe psychology, get yourself a Crash Course book. For Lit you should try Princeton Review.
For AP Spanish Language and Culture, Barron’s is widely considered to be the best prep book. I used it last year, and although I haven’t received my scores yet, the book could easily have brought me a five. Now, I had a teacher, and I’m not sure how easy it is to self study a language, especially one as aggressively tested by College Board as Spanish. The trick is to immerse yourself in the language. Assuming you’ve completed Spanish I through III, you should have the grammar/vocab foundation to do well. So you just need to listen to online news podcasts in Spanish, read Spanish news websites, as well as a small amount of literature. AP Spanish cannot be prepared for in the last few weeks before an exam. You need to immerse yourself early on.
Good luck!
