Best book for APBio, APUSH ?

anybody have any suggestions ? my dad bought Kaplan for APBio, but i'm not sure if that fully preps you for the AP Exam. I'm sort of lost in the sea of prep books right now!!

cliffs for bio and pr for APUSH it got me a 5 and 4, respectively

thanks!! anybody else had good experiences with these books?

yeah cliffs is basically a requirement for bio. pr is also very good, 5 steps is good, barrons is decent. sorry to tell you, but the kaplans book that you have is basically the worst book for bio, haha.

for apush, people rave about amsco but its hard to find and i havent personally used it. rea and pr are also very good.

how is Kaplan bad ?is it off the mark for what the AP tests test on ? or is it written poorly?

I think Kaplan for APUSH is excellent (at least the review is. The tests are not so great). I basically spent the last 1-2 weeks before APUSH cramming with the Kaplan book and it got me a 5.

I also crammed for AP Bio the day before (yay senioritis) this year with PR. I felt it was pretty solid. I think I would have gotten a 4 without it, but I think now I have a 60/40 chance of getting a 4 or a 5.

Get Cliffs for Bio. Seriously, it's the right on the mark in terms of preciseness even though it's rather old.

Cliff's. It's really all you'll need.

APBio - Cliffs

APUSH - REA

Those are the books I used and they seemed to have prepared me well enough.

APUSH by REA is amazing. I literally slept through class the entire year, got yelled at all the time. Read the REA book for 2 nites b4 the AP and got a 5 easily, i mean the test was a joke. BIO, the sparknotes power pack is pretty good

AMSCO for ap us history.. trust me... it's so good it wasn't even available for students till recently (teachers used it). Just do a search here for AMSCO and you'll find how good it is. If you read amsco you don't even have to take the course. I'm guessing you're going to study some in the summer.. get AMSCO (I got it 3 days ago b/c im self-studying for AP US and it's def. worth the 600+ pages). if you're not sure get REA - thats the 2nd best.

bio CLIFFS and BARRONS

thanks guys. I guess i'm def. getting cliffs for Bio, and for APUSH REA or AMSCO (or maybe both!).

does anybody have any suggestions for APLanguage?

cliffs again the best for ap lit too

I used REA for APUSH - didn't learn anything (literally) all year in the class (online) - read REA for 3 weeks before the test, took 3 practice tests - feel pretty confident that I got a 4 or 5 on the exam. For AP Lang, in class we use Cliffs and PR, and my teacher is an AP grader, so I'm guessing they're the best.
