me neither. i will call today.

Are they supposed to send out a letter whether or not you are a finalist? Or are they just sending letters to finalists?

who knows. have you received anything parasitelin? I realize you are a state south of me. or maybe they are going through and mailing these letters state by state.

I was a finalist, but they tricked me into buying a 2 year service agreement....

just kidding... lol :)

does volunteer activities have to be outside of school? can it be a school club or something? I'm really having trouble getting signatures.

I applied and haven't heard anything one way or the other, either. :

I didn't receive anything yet.

I called the foundation that handles the Best Buy Scholarship. They said that they have already mailed out the finalist forms a week ago.

Bah. Well...I guess that's that.

Unless my redneck post office is seriously screwed up and just hasn't delivered it yet, which is also a possibility.

Best Buy is a bad company anyway. Here's hoping for Wal-Mart's scholarship, though they're a terrible company too. I didn't know about the Target one until it was too late....

fyi target/best buy are handled by the same foundation

Texas anyone??? And when exactly should I be expecting this ??

What if you didn't list 3 volunteer activities in your initial application?

havent received one... noone from my school did either.. kinda weird.....

I dont like this at all... I feeel that I should have atleast been a finalist!

ranked 4th out of 400, 1360SAT, accepted by Duke ED, Family Expected to pay 30% of income to Duke for the next three years. Community service, varsity athletics, part time job for an engineering company.....

why..?

I've won the Coca Cola Scholars, I am a semfinalist (waiting on finalist status) for the Toyota Community Scholars, and won 1st place (in my region) for the Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards in Community Service. All those are in my opinion x100 more competitive than Best Buy. Yet, I didn't get picked for the Best Buy. Big deal. I'll bite the bullet and move on. The money they offered was peanuts anyways relative to the rest that's out there.

kingroger317: I am very much offended by your comments. For starters, my parents are not poor and secondly, don't assume that because some Hispanics have children in the teenage years that ALL Hispanics have children. Thirdly, don't for one second believe that I have won these scholarships by virtue of me being Hispanic. Forth, don't assume that I haven't worked just as hard as you (if not harder). Don't make assumptions (based off prevailing stereotypes) when you know nothing about me or my family.

I applied for the Best Buy Scholarship, and am from NJ and haven't heard back... any reason to be concerned? thanks

I called about a few days and they told they had sent them weeks ago.

Hey,

I'm a junior this year and hope to apply for the Best Buy next year. Any tips?
