best christian colleges in Iowa

Does anybody know the best christian colleges in Iowa and Minnesota area?

Does anybody know the best christian colleges in iowa and minnesota? What is the average cost of a christian college education in those two states?

Dordt College is a fabulous Christian college located in NW Iowa. It is nestled in the quaint town of Sioux Center. Beautiful new facilities, small teacher to student ratio and a great Christian community are all part of this school.

St. Olaf (MN), St. John’s University (MN), College of St. Benedict (MN), Gustavus Adolphus (MN), Luther (IA). I’m sure there are others that I am forgetting. The “sticker price” of these schools averages more than $40K/yr, but they all offer merit-based and need-based aid, so the average family pays less, sometimes much less.

I second Dordt…I have a daughter who goes there and loves it. Great academics and close community. It’s probably not for everyone though as it’s in a small town and very rural location, and mostly Dutch Reformed, but we’ve been been pleased, and we are not Dutch Reformed. If the location won’t bother you, check out Northwestern just a few miles away, also Dutch Reformed. I also highly recommend Bethel in the twin cities, Minnesota.
Luther College and Wartburg College are also highly respected for academics, esp. pre med and music majors. Not sure how ‘religious’ they are though; depends on the experience you’re looking for. They are probably more secular, and a mix of liberal and conservative, probably more on the liberal side, and Bethel, Dordt and Northwestern definately more conservative than Luther and Wartburg. I also hear great things about St. Olaf in Minnesota.

I’m guessing all the schools I suggested are around the $25,000 range, some higher. Sorry I don’t have time right now to look up online, but should be easy to access on their website. I’m sure they all offer academic scholarships and need based financial aid to help offset the cost.

Luther, Augustana, Concordia …

St.Olaf is a fine school, great reputation. Like so many of Christian heritage and roots, I’d not describe it as a “Christian college,” sadly.

Check out Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. It has great academics–two Iowa Professors of the Year are on its faculty–and a warm sense of community.
