Best Cognitive Neuroscience MA/phD programs

Hello all,

I am a recent graduate of Penn State University w/ a BS in Kinesiology-Movement Science. I am interested in pursuing graduate school to study cognitive neuroscience. Specifically, I would like to do research on the long-term effects of traumatic brain injury in athletes but I am unsure which programs would be best suited for my interests. My stats are:

Undergrad GPA- 3.58
GRE Q - 730
GRE V - 570
4.5 on the analytical section
Research in both the PSU sport psych lab and the neuromotion lab

I have begun applying to Michigan(phd), BU(phd), UNC(masters), and Columbia(phd) but was wondering if there were any other programs/professors I should consider? I would like to get my masters first but am not opposed to diving right into a doctoral program.

Thanks in advance for all the help!

If you are interested in TBI, you need to go to institutions that have very strong programs in that field. It is a very small field, so I would suggest you chose based on the quality of the TBI research and not school name.

University of Miami, for example, has one of the best SCI/TBI programs: [Our Research Faculty – The Miami Project](http://www.miamiproject.miami.edu/Page.aspx?pid=281)
