Best college for comedy?

Hello, I am an aspiring comedian. I want to either write, direct, or perform comedy. I was wondering what are the best colleges for an aspiring comedian for networking and will place me in the best environment possible.

I go to Ohio University at the moment and am a freshman.

I'm big on improvisational comedy and I love written humor. I know Harvard has The Harvard Lampoon which has famously spawned great comedy writers.

Just looking for a new college with a great comedy scene.

Schools located in the Chicago area tend to have connections with Second City.

Yeah. All I know of are DePaul, Columbia College Chicago, and University of Chicago. Also, Northwestern is in that area. CCC has classes available that you can take with The Second City but I’m not sure the comedy scene at some of those schools are good. I’m maybe thinking of become a theatre performance major.

USC is pretty good and you’re right in the 'hood, (I mean Hollywood). They are currently running the Fracas! improv festival…

Harvard: Conan O’Brien and Al Franken are comedy alums. Plus about half the writers for The Simpsons are alums too. The Harvard Lampoon gives them a great leg up.
