<p>Could anyone tell me which school is considererd better for English, UT Arlington, or UT Dallas? I live much closer to UT Dallas, but I have heard conflicting opinions on which school is better for English majors and acquiring teaching certification.</p>

<p>I live in Dallas and I would have to say UT Arlington...it definitely is a more respected branch of the UT system, and the UT Dallas' only real strong point, I have heard, is computer science.</p>
<p>TAMU - Commerce probably turns out more teachers than either of those, and they have campuses in the metro area.</p>
<p>UTD is more focused on sciences. It was started by some people at TI to encourage education of their engineering and technician pool locally. It also has excellent neuroscience, space science, and behavioral science departments. For humanities, I think Arlington is probably stronger.</p>
