Best Colleges for Poli Sci/ Govt.

At the elite level is the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton. SAT scores of 1550+ are needed.

something also to be considered, some Universities have a lot more political influence than others. Powerful, northeast elites like Princeton, Yale, Hopkins, Georgetown etc that have a known tie to government, obviously are going to both have resources and carry a prestige that is very valuable. The connections at the schools that belong to the community of NE elites are hard to overlook. When it comes to politics, the "where you go to school, doesn't matter thing" doesnt really apply. Now that i said that a million people are going to cite powerful people who didnt go to one of the elite NE univs. but if they didnt, they almost definately went to a popular local school and gained political influence locally and at the state level first (see Georgia Tech, Texas, Kentucky, etc). Its also worth mentioning GWU because while its not typically grouped with some of the schools above, it has political connections and history rivalling many of them.

Princeton is probably the best ivy for International Affairs, with the others not too far behind. The programs at Columbia, Brown, Gtown, etc. are great, with GWU just a bit behind them. However, I'm pretty sure that Princeton's Wilson school is a grad school, and does not grant undergraduate degrees.

Woodrow Wilson actually does offer a "certificate program" to undergraduate students at Princeton...and btw...dont forget Johns Hopkins, SAIS and the undergraduate program are extremely well regarded and a huge number of powerful people in political academia as well as in Washington spent time there.
