Best colleges with notable alumni

<p>What are America's top colleges and universities with the most notable alumni? I just know about Harvard and Yale but I think there are more celebrities and politicians whom I don't know and what colleges they've graduated from</p>

<p>I’m curious about why famous alums would make a difference to a student in their college search. Some people were admitted because they were already famous. Others are famous later for talents that have nothing to do with the college they attended.</p>

<p>Most top universities have a long list of notable alumni. Harvard will be in a league of its own though.</p>

<p>It might be better to consider what academic subject you are interested in. For scientists, you’re going to look at places like CalTech, MIT, and Harvey Mudd. For business people, schools like UPenn Wharton and Amherst might be better to search.</p>

The Time Magazine tool cited above makes no distinction between a Nobel laureate and a hockey player.</p>

<p>Stanford has a long list of people in technology and entrepreneurship.</p>

<p>Just look up any school’s Wikipedia page; it will have a list of notable alumni and a page looking at an even longer list, often divided by field, and sometimes even including fictional alumni.</p>

<p>(Just on Princeton’s site they claim than Andy from Toy Story 3 is a student. Yale had an investigation where they found that Batman is an alumnus.)</p>

<p>All of the top schools in the US have fair shares of accomplished alumni. Just check the lists for the schools that interest you.</p>
