My son is currently in Fluor.
Pros:
Air conditioning! It was a very hot summer/fall and they used the AC quite a bit.
Across from gym
Next to Health Center
Next to parking structure (he has a car)

Cons:
Kind of far from the main part of campus
Fire station close by is busy (noisy) all hours
Closest cafeteria is closed on the weekends

Overall his experience has been good living in Fluor and I think he is happy with his decision.

Can someone please give me a Pros and Cons list for Marks Tower.

Aren’t really many pros for Marks Tower haha. We have a pretty cool lounge and direct access to Ground Zero, we have trash chutes instead of trash rooms, elevators. And that’s about it. Most people (like me) who end up at Marks Tower originally wanted to live at Pardee Tower, I find. The social scene here is ehhh. People who live here can get close and hang out, but I feel it’s a hit and miss. Pretty close to EVK, TroGro, and Leavey. idk if being close to EVK actually counts as a pro though.

Hiya! Haha pretty sure this thread died… but I just wanted to say that I lived in Parkside Arts and Humanities this past year. It was awesome having a private bathroom and to have quiet when I wanted to study. These are also the newest dorms on campus, so the facilities are nice! Parkside restaurant is also nearby (which I thought was the best dining hall of the three). However, you really have to make an effort to meet the people on your floor, and most of my friends are actually from other dorms. Parkside gets a lot of flack for being so far away from everything, but honestly, it’s not that big of a deal.

Just a quick question: Are internationals required to live in the international residence halls, or is it only optional? Those are the most expensive dorms available…

^No. International students are able to select their preferences the same as US students.

@camomof3 Thank you!!

My daughter (a California native) chose IRC because she looked forward to the opportunity to get to know International students at USC. In her suite of 6 there were 3 Californians, 1 Texan, 1 from Colorado and 1 from New York, so…

IRC has an international theme, with discussions and events centered around that theme. Both domestic and international students are free to choose IRC

As camomof3 says, International students may choose any housing option that is open.

@alamemom Great! Thank you for your help!
