Hi,
I am a rising sophomore in my school's accounting program. I have a few questions on what extracurriculars to join as their are a few I am very interested in, but at the same time do not want to do all of them because I want to have enough time to dedicate a good amount of effort into each one.

So, basically there are three extracurriculars I am interested in: Beta Alpha Psi, the Accounting Association, and the Net Defense team.

The Accounting Association is just a group on campus that includes accounting majors who get together, hold fundraisers and have weekly meetings and plan certain events on campus. Also a little bit of networking done but not nearly as much as Beta.

Beta Alpha Psi seems to be a pretty big commitment and a lot of different work to do. I do like that a good amount of that work I am doing for this is networking, though. But at the same time, I do not want to have to put my time and effort into this if I could still end up in the Big 4 when I graduate without it.

Next, the Net Defense team is a workgroup on campus that works on hacking into networks and keeping them secure. It is a lot of IT type of stuff, which I know when paired with an accounting degree, I could do almost anything I wanted when I graduate.

What my main question is is that I really am interested in learning the cyber security side of things, as it could be useful wherever I go and potentially land me an awesome job when I graduate. So, would you say I should do the Net Defense team and Accounting Association? If I did the Net Defense team and Beta I already know that I wouldn't be able to commit enough time to either and wouldn't get as much out of it as I could. Basically is the fact that I join the accounting association instead of Beta in order to do Net Defense worth it? At this point, I think I am gonna do Accounting Association and Net Defense, mainly because the recruiting and networking Beta does could also be done through my business school (the recruitment here is huge for anyone, whether they are in Beta or not)

Any help on this is greatly appreciated!
