Which colleges are known for good financial aid packages?

More specifically, of Yale, Harvard, Vassar, Bates, Haverford, Amherst, Rice and Duke, who would likely give aid?

Harvard has a HUUUUgggeEEEE endowment.

Basically any school that has a large endowment-per-student value.

Are you talking need or merit?

How is Cornell with the aid?

Both need and merit would be nice. My father makes 80k a year, three children. If I can secure aid for music or academics, all the better.

all of them, mostly Yale Harv and Duke as they are large private institutions with lots of resources

isn't Rice very good with covering expenses? I thought the founder wanted there to be no tuition at all

Ivy=no merit aid.

merit aid is overrated. go for the schools that give need-based grants (ie, money that you don't have pay back).
