<p>yeah, i lived in VA and worked at a chick-fil-a... i was the ONLY english speaker that worked in the back after about three weeks.. literally, the other people who worked there maybe knew about 2 or 3 words of english and so the little spanish i knew (took 2 years) was really helpful</p>

<p>valuable, actually i would say that russiand would be infinitly useful, and i would add that as more so that german. i think that as a such a large country it can contain infintite opportunities, and in the us its inceasingly needed becasue of the large number of immigrants from there. also, the language itself is not that difficult to learn, and it really doesnt take a large time to learn a specific word, anymore than in english. most people i know who have take it cought on really quickly.
also, the culture itself is vastly interesting . look at condoleeza rice, who speeks it fluently, she says it very important to her in the carreer world</p>
