Tim Cook is Indian? I didn’t know.

@intparent It was just a rebuttal of your cheap talent comment! You are a expert in everything spending your majority of time on a student’s college website.

It’s a LOSS to the US - in potential and in taxes - to send highly qualified, would-be productive legal residents, back to their country (or, very often, to our competition).

With the lowest unemployment rates in decades and the tech boom (but not just) there’s simply no reason to limit H1B’s the way we do. Yet we do, or let giant loopholes be exploited like what Tata does, which is not what H1B’s are for. It’s insane because it’s counterproductive for * us* but it mayvwell happen to you. If the examples you know are from 10 years ago or longer, they no longer reflect current policies, and while we lay change things back to what they were, there’s no indication of that.
So, OP, don’t expect to find a job here, although Canada is certainly an option (they love to snap up our tech graduates.)
To get back to OP 's question, if you rent your textbooks or buy them used, buy the cheapest meal plan and don’t eat out/go out much, UTD is within budget.
Did you get into the honors college / collegium V?
