I know most people start tailoring their finance/general business experience after sophomore year since that's when most banks have positions open. However, I would like to try and get something meaningful work experience wise this summer. Although preferred, it doesn't have to be something with a BB Investment Bank or even an IB at all. I'm really just looking for anything that will give me experience and a feel for the industry so that I can decide whether this is something I would actually enjoy doing for a living.

I attend a target school and have applied to their full list (7 banks/firms including JPM and GS) of freshman employers in Finance/Consulting. I'm also looking into things with the US Treasury as I've heard they commonly have good positions for college UG students.

Does anyone else have recommended companies/groups/organizations to apply to that would be able to provide meaningful experience, or even have other methods of finding places to apply? If you even have specific industries/opportunities to recommend me doing more research into on my own, that would be fantastic as well.

Thanks in advance for the help.
