I am new to the area and wanted to know if there is a great place to eat.
Regina’s in the North End. Best pizza we’ve had. But we’re not locals. There’s a bakery right near there, too, I forget the name, that’s open 24 hours (we went on Christmas Eve!). Gotta go there too.
The North End is nowhere near BC. In Cleveland Circle, about a mile east of campus, there are a lot of restaurants catering to the college crowd. In Newton Center, a bit over a mile west of campus, try a search on yelp.com for some suggestions.
Yeah, it’ll probably take close to an hour to get from BC to the North End via Green Line. There are other Regina’s locations, though none match the North End one.
El Pelón Taqueria is pretty decent (and cheap), but better than chains like Chipotle and Qdoba. They have a BC location.
I would not recommend the Chipotle near BC:
I always use trip advisor dot com in a situation like this - and yes, though the North End is worth a visit, it is nowhere near Boston College.
Well, if you have a car, Sweet Basil in Needham is awesome and not as far away as the North End. There’s always a line out the door and people wait. They don’t take reservations. Everything is super fresh made. You can bring your own wine too. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. https://www.yelp.com/biz/sweet-basil-needham
As good or better than anything I’ve had in the North End. Better, actually.
Thanks for all the suggestions!
Some places close to BC that haven’t been mentioned: Crazy Dough’s pizza (across the street from campus along Comm Ave) and Eagle’s Deli (in Cleveland Circle).
And if you’re looking for ice cream, look no further than White Mountain Creamery (near Crazy Dough’s)
