Hello!

I am very interested in pursuing art in college. Last summer I attended my first pre-college at SMFA, which was completely mind blowing. I had never experienced art at that level before. When I got back home I buried myself in making art.
During class someone approached me and said I should become an illustrator. The more I thought about it the more I liked the idea. So here I am and I want to be an illustrator! The only problem is I am somewhat doubting wether or not I could survive in the field. So, I want to get a taste of what illustration is like, to assure myself.

I was hoping I could get some recommendations for the best pre-colleges for illustration.

I know that SVA, Parsons, and MICA are great schools for illustration. Should I look into one of those?

Also, which places SHOULDN'T I consider?

Anything would be extremely helpful, thanks! :)
