Who are they and what do they teach?

You can go to ratemyprofessor.com and type in ‘University of Washington’ to see the different ratings on professors from various fields of study. =)

Actually, I find that my best teachers so far are actually graduate student TAs.

older friends gave me the following piece of advice, and i didn’t take it seriously. after a year at uw, i couldn’t agree more:
like a professor is TOTALLY your own opinion. yes, there are teachers know to be mean/harder/a bad teacher/etc. however, i have found that my top 2 favorite professors so far have relatively low ratings on ratemyprofessor. i loved both of their classes, and they were a lot of hard work, but i loved them and the knowledge i gained was worth it.
take rating sites with a grain of salt

Hm well the rating site that I suggested is based on students’ opinions, so there could be a few professors that deserve high ratings but have low ratings due to a student’s bad encounter with them. It all depends really.

based on my personal experience, the rates on ratemyproffesor.com don’t do its justice. during my two years of community college, i had a great experience with teachers who got a very low rate, and really bad ones from others with higher rates. the way we evaluate teachers is very personal to each student.

Well maybe you guys should go on there and leave positive comments on professors you’ve had :)

Thanks for the answers everyone!

you are 100% right. we tend to rate professors that we had bad experience with :(
