So I'm just about finished applying to all of my schools. The schools I've applied to so far are:

Rutgers University (NB)
Drexel University
Pace University
Fordham University
St. John's
Baruch College

I'm also considering applying to Villanova or Lehigh as a reach.

I'm declaring my major as accounting, but my second choice would be finance. I'm not looking for a career in IB, trading, sales, etc. If I majored in finance, I'd like to get an entry level position at a mutual fund or somewhere in investment management.

So which of these schools would suffice? I'm supposing Villanova, Lehigh, and Fordham are definitely high enough prestige, but what about schools like Pace and Rutgers? Just wondering if paying $200,000 to go to a big private school is going to get me a substantially better job than would be available at a public school (e.g. Rutgers) or a private school that would give me a good financial aid package (e.g. Pace).

Thanks so much for your application to St. John’s University. I think that accounting, economics, or any major within our business school are all excellent choices. STJ’s metropolitan location allows for great internships all over he financial district and Wall Street. That’s amazing experience to have post graduation!

It’s not Wharton, Sloan, or Stern,
so it really doesn’t worth it if you go to a private school for undergraduate education.
It’s not just about being a private school or reputation,
the schools I mention have really good networking in Investment Industries.
You don’t just pay for college education, you also pay for the network it can provide you.
So, it’s better to attend a public school if all these schools are about the same level.
Be the best in that school and save up the money you have for a Master degree.
If you want to do Investment Banking,
make sure you invest in your college education wisely :)
