Dear CC Community! Looking for schools for my son within 3-4 hrs drive of NYC. He is bright, funny, social (slightly awkward due to Asperger Syndrome) kid. Looking for a school that would be a great fit for him. Both academically (he is a B/B- student) and socially (Nice, accepting students). He is not into frat parties, would never touch alcohol but loves spending time with friends. And he is Jewish!! Does such school exist?? Thanks for any feedback.
Muhlenberg.
What are his standardized tests?
What can you afford?
Does he (or you) have any preferences in terms of size (LAC, mid-size, large) , location (ex. urban/suburban/rural), or anything other attribute (ex. does he like big time sports anything else) in a college?
@happy1 hasn’t taken it yet. But all indicators (practice tests, etc) point toward 1100-1200 SAT. Cost is not a consideration. He prefers small LAC (mostly because he likes small classes and usually establishes good relationships with teachers) but we would def look at mid size schools if they are the right fit. Not into competitive sports. Enjoys tennis and would probably join tennis club or intramural. Thanks!!
Thank you!! Heard wonderful things about Muhlenberg. It’s a reach school for him right now but definitely on the list.
I’d look at the Colleges that Change Lives list of schools as well as some of the smaller/less competitive SUNY schools.
I just opened this thread to say Muhlenberg.
Maybe also Clark, in Worcester, MA.
I recommend Muhlenberg, too!
