If your school tcci naviance... that is the best because it shows the accepted stats from your school.

go sit in a barnes and noble or borders for a couple of hours and read through a few college guides- there will be shelves and shelves of them that have the info you are looking for

There aren't any real rankings for how quality undergrad majors are...is there?

For SATs and other stats collegeboard has some stats, and guides like Fiske have more info too

The most accurate data you will find is if the school publishes the so-called "Common Dataset" admission statistics. Google to see if you can find one for the schools of interest to you.

Or check this link..

collegedata. com, collegeboard. com

Bump 10char

fastweb is really good too, although you might have to sign up (its free) to use it. For most colleges it gives sat and act test data, student/fac ratio, girl/guy ratio, undergrad/grad ratio, tuition, ect. Fastweb is also a great scholarship database.

I get sick of logging into PR after a while so now I use College Board. I also seem to find College Board a little more in depth compared to PR. Despite that, I still happen to use both PR and College Board.

Tcci Naviance would be the best if your school has it. I love the scattergrams because I can compare myself to other students who were accepted/rejected

I was always told that most schools don't disclose actual stats such as avg. SAT or avg. GPA. They only give you a range. However, I've also been told that the commercial college guides are inaccurate. Much of their info is outdated although they claim otherwise.

I find other things than stats matter also. Campusdirt.com and Studentsreview.com are useful in getting biased but less "data-centric" views of schools. Statistics tend to make all schools look the same.

Has anyone used Prep HeadQuarters?
My school just got it. It has all the scattergrams & stuff to compare GPA & test scores at colleges -- just like Naviance. I just started using it & it seems really easy. My counselor told me it's free -- I guess Naviance is pretty expensive.
So, if anyone has used it and has any tips, let me know. :-)
