Best Thing to do to prepare for the PSAT?

So, I have to take the PSAT this upcoming fall, and I've been studying review books, and taking practice tests, and such. Is there anything else that you guys recommend? Also, what review books are the best?

So, While I'm at it, I'm a little confused on how this whole thing works. Let's say the cutoff score is 215 in my state, and I score 216. Does that make me one of the 50,000 high scorers, or semifinalist? What determines if you are a semifinalist, or commended? Thanks!

If your state’s cut-off is 215…and you score a 215 or higher, you are a NMSF.

Commended are the 50,000…Commended number is about 201,201.

Use the Collegeboard SAT blue book to study for the PSAT…good luck!

would tutoring for the SAT help with the PSAT? I’m a sophomore (going to be a junior now) that missed the PSAT so i plan on taking it in the fall. My mom decided for me to get a tutor for the SAT since i do really bad. Would the tutoring be enough to do well on the PSAT? Or would it be different?

PSAT = Shorter SAT

You should be fine. If you can consistently get over a 2200 on SAT, you should be more than fine on PSAT.

the psat doesn’t matter unless your trying to be a national merit person. If you are, then just prepare the same way you would for an SAT

Wow, thanks so much you guys!

Do you guys know how I can adjust my settings so that i get an email every time someone responds to a thread I start?

stew, FYI, many schools give scholarships to kids who are Natl Hispanic and Natl Achievement scholars, so the scores can mean a lot for kids who aren’t NMSF.

Iowa, I’ve never done it, but I’ve seen that you can subscribe to threads.
