My son is a sophomore and scored high enough on the PSAT (w/out prep) to compete as a NMSF if he had been a junior. Should he take an SAT prep course before the PSAT (in OCT.) and then take the SAT in January? OR should he take a prep course prior to taking the SAT in March and not take the prep prior to the PSAT? I'm afraid he might be "burnt out" by taking the course before the PSAT in Oct. -- I just thought he should do the prep so he can compete for the NMSF slots. What do you think? Thanks in advance for any advice!

The course may be wholly unnecessary, especially if he has already scored that high as a sophomore taking the PSAT.
