best time to transfer?

<p>hey guys sorry if this has been said before, but anyways this fall ill be a sophomore at my current school but i have a relatively low GPA so applying as a transfer to an engineering program at a diff school might not be the best idea</p>

<p>so i guess my question is this: is it okay to apply AFTER sophomore year? and if that is the case, how exactly does that work? wouldnt that mean i would be submitting my applications fall 2011, sticking out one more year in my current school, then entering my transfer school as a SENIOR?</p>

<p>Some schools don’t allow transferring in as a senior. If I were you, I would try my best to get excellent grades and take as many hours as possible. Try taking summer classes to boost GPA. I would still apply for admission as a junior, write in your admission essay about how you have improved/grown as a person etc… If you don’t get in, you can try again at semester.</p>
