I am about to apply for college soon and over the years i have found some useful tips that have helped me a lot for breaking the 2000 barrier.
I went from a 1740 to a 2130.

Reading: just read ALOT. this is the only way to improve reading that has worked for me. reading tips all day wont get you that far. Read anything and everything you can. I have found sites that keep me interested work the best. Just find something funny to read or something that interests you.
Here are some sites i have found that are helpful and interesting:

For comical news, Whoops America!
^^ i have found some funny things on that site. pretty cool and keeps you interested.

For just plain news, CNN.com - Breaking News, U.S., World, Weather, Entertainment & Video News or The New York Times - Breaking News, World News & Multimedia
^^for those debate people and political news listeners, these are the best two sites that i know of.
Math: Do ALOT of practice problems. i remember on both sat II's and sat I's i just did all the REAL problems i could find. Those in the Blue Book. Go over the ones you miss every time. One you do alot you will see the same type of problems come up. Especially on the Math II subject test

Writing: same as math, do alot of problems. however you can go buy any grammar review book to make sure you know correct grammar along with the problems.

Science: I have found that skimming through the passage and reading the experiments are the best way to approach these. Again, practice makes you faster if you are running out of time.

Good luck to all on your college endeavors!
