The tuition is higher than my parent’s income. I’m trying to do WHATEVER I can to get the money. What do I do?
Also, I had to do the washington mentorhsip program which means I got no aid for fall

The answers won’t be different now then they were in May. You can’t afford a $45k/year or more net cost on a $600 EFC. If you don’t pay the fall tuition bill you won’t be able to enroll. It doesn’t matter that a relative loaned you $400 to pay the deposit. All that does is confirm your intention to attend. When the fall bill comes due in August and it’s not paid a hold will be placed on the account and you won’t be permitted to register or attend classes. If you want to attend college this fall you really need to pick one that your family can afford.
The Washington Mentorship Program is a full pay program for which American will not give financial aid towards the costs. You have to come up with the money on your own. You and your parents either have to pay it or borrow it. I think American makes that very clear. In addition to paying for the program, you need to finish payment for room/board as American requires it that term. You’ve already made a deposit towards that. That’s just the first payment.
You need to talk to American University about your situation or you and the school are going to go through the very unpleasant experience of kicking you out for lack of payment. There are students each year at many colleges that undergo the painful process of being evicted from a school due to lack of payment. For most, it’s a matter of parents who fall behind in payments or ‘fess up they cannot pay for the school. A loan gets declined. In your case, you are going head on, knowing full well you have no way to pay the cost of the program. If you want to do this, hoping some miracle happens, as it appears you are doing, understand that you are likely to be removed unceremoniously and painfully.
American is a private school. It had no responsibilities in paying for programs someone wants. . They have declined your request to subsidize you. You want to go there, you have to pay, as most people do. It’s like shopping, you can’t just take what you want. You need to pay for it.
Cptofthehouse makes a good point. If you just show up and move in but can’t pay, you’ll be dropped from classes and kicked out of the dorms. If it’s after the drop date the classes will be recorded as withdrawals and you may even be presented with a bill for the fall semester’s tuition, room, and board. If that happens you won’t be able to enroll at another college until the ~$22,000 is paid. So it’s really in your best interest to find a school that you know is affordable and have finances lined up before you go to class. Unfortunately, American isn’t the one.
You can get a poli sci degree at a lot of schools. Are there any schools you can commute to from home?
Sounds to me that American is unaffordable. You asked this before.

Closing thread. You can’t afford it. Asking the question multiple times will not elicit a different answer
