Best way to apply?

Hey guys,

I'm going to be a senior this year at a public high school in Connecticut, and I was wondering what you guys thought would be the best way to apply to Marist. See, my GPA for my freshman year was a terrible 2.6; But my GPA has since gone up to a 3.1 sophomore year and a 3.7 for my junior year. Combined, I have around a 3.1 for all three years, and I think that I can get an ever higher GPA for my senior year. I would really, really like to attend Marist, but if I apply for the early decision I am worried that my 3.1 will not be enough. Should I wait and apply for the regular decision with a slightly higher GPA, or would it be better to apply Early Decision??
My SAT is around 1200 and I have 100+ hours of community service just to name some other things.

Thanks,
Matt

My suggestion is that you should ONLY apply ED if you can present your best application.

If, as you have stated, you think you will be able to up your GPA w/ another semester, then I would wait and apply RD.

In your case, I do not see any reason to apply ED.

Most important to Marist is interest. Admission wants to pick students who want to be at Marist. Sending emails to admission reps, calling to check your application, emailing your tour guide and such is a great way to show how much you love Marist. If Marist is the college for you apply ED because you are showing Marist that you want to be here. Best of luck!
