Best way to prepare for PSAT to earn a National Merit Scholarship?

The PSAT is coming up this fall and I’m gonna be a junior once this year ends. In the summer I’m planning to dedicate some time to studying for the PSAT and improve my score of 1210 to that of a score eligible for the scholarship. I’m willing to work hard at all costs, but does anyone who’s been a scholar have any strategies and tips for improvement? For the last 2 years I’ve been in the high 90th percentile on the national level, and so I’m wanting to be amongst the very top percentile.

Lol I’m sorry if I worded that wrong, lost my sense of wording stuff…

So yeah, any tips and strategies for studying would be great!

It’s a slightly shorter version of the SAT, so just study as you would for that.

  1. Get the blue book of official (new) SAT tests and/or find them online. The blue book has 4 tests, but there are seven or 8 by now that you can find online through the College Board website of Khan Academy.

  2. We liked the Erica Meltzer prep books for the Reading and Writing sections.

  3. We liked PWN the SAT (book and special access website) for math.

  4. Prep for the SAT and you’ll be more than ready for the PSAT.
