Better engineering SLO or UC IRVIne

So if i could do any type of engineering, I am admitted at both schools btw(slo for general engineering but my gpa and sat scores should let me transfer to any major soon, and Im in irvine for business administration, but I emialed my counselor and she said becasue business is impaceted and none of the engineerings are, i can change my major to any engineering right now if i want.

SO if my goal is to make money and to have a respectable engineering degree where I can make a lot of money and to one day go to get my mba at a place like Haas, what should I do.

ALso, How tough is SLO? LIke academically?

Maybe there's a reason Irvine's Eng. ISN'T impacted...

Well, I know CP is a great eng. school, so i'd totally choose it if you're SURE that's what you want to study.

I have heard that those engineers who graduate from SLO are in high demand after they graduate for jobs. Since SLO is really hands on, graduates are able to quickly adapt to the workforce while at UCs it is more theoretical and so it will take longer to actually learn to apply the knowledge that you have. I know of one guy who just graduated from SLO and got a job right off, 80000 a year with ViaSat.

SLO is a much better choice for engineering overall.

Surfboard, wat was his major?

Remember, you have to put in at least one quarter before changing majors. With General Engineering that really shouldn't be too hard (heck, almost everything in the college counts towards General Engineering). However, I wouldn't be as confident you could change majors within Engineering that easily. Particularly to the impacted engineerings (ME and CSC... And I think CPE and SE too). See College of Engineering Advising Center - Changing Majors .

Of course, they are not as strict on incoming freshmen as they are on 3rd year Seniors.
