-I want to double major in econ and sociology.
-I'm not into the arts but def. love the social sciences.
-I heard the RC has a major language requirement... idk about this because i'm already fluent in another language (mandarin) and would hesitate to take on a third one.
-I want to be around interesting, introverted people who have philosphical/political discussions.
-I'm not really into partying.
-I want to do research but am concerned about the extra workload the MRC would entail...?
-What about the focus on writing in the RC... is there a lot more writing in RC vs. LSA (i don't like writing too many papers).
-Dorm quality is important to me... and I've heard the EQ dorms are pretty bad.

creating three of the same thread is pretty cool

I was in the MRC this year. You do research either for work-study or for credit. If you go for work-study it has to be a part of your financial aid package. Its a 5 credit commitment (at least). You have to take this ******** class UC 104 first semester and two credits of research UC 280 both fall and winter semesters. Whether you like it or not will depend in large part on what kind of project you get. Personally, i liked my project. Most of the kids are either pre-med or engineering but there were several kids that had projects in the arts/humanities/social sciences. The bug plus of being in MRC is that you get to live in Mosher Jordan Hall which is the best residence on campus (IMHO). It’s a relatively quiet dorm and would be good for you considering your not into the zoo scene you would find at Markley or some other place.

5 credits?! did you take the same amount of actual classes as a normal student?
