Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie to this forum and had a question regarding my masters in social anthropology. I'm sorry if this is the wrong section of the website. I just graduated from Dalhousie with a combined honours in Social Anthropology and International Development. I'm taking a year off, but planning on applying to U of T and McGill for my MA (along with a few others, but these are my top 2).
I've spoken with my honours prof and she said they are both great options for me. I know I have the minimum GPA requirement to probably get into U of T, and I hope McGill as well. My overall GPA is borderline B+/A- overall, with my GPA improving dramatically over the last 2 years of my degree (once I found my academic interest!). Anyway, I got a 4.0 on my undergraduate thesis, and I'm hoping I have the grades to get accepted into both of these schools. I know they're 2 of the best universities in Canada.
Now I know this is premature since I won't be applying for a few months and haven't been accepted, but I'm just wondering which school is better known for its Anthro program? Or if you don't know, what would be the pros/cons of each school for an arts student? I love Montreal, but wouldn't mind living in Toronto either!
Thanks everyone! I appreciate any advice

I’m not in the field so I can’t say which is better known. I am curious, though, what your plans are with an MA in anthro.

In any case, good luck with your apps.
