Between Vanderbilt and UMich, which has better undergraduate Environmental Sciences program?

The title says it all. So as a transfer, I got into Vanderbilt and UMich. I plan to major in environmental sciences and possibly double major in ecology. Of the two schools, which has better academics in these fields?

I think UMich is pretty well regarded for environmental sciences. It’s not a big program at Vandy. The website “environmental-colleges” ranks UMich 4th and Vandy all the way down at 143. No idea what their criteria is or if the ranking is reputable but that’s obviously an enormous difference.

@Pancaked, may I ask on what basis is Env Sci is not big in Vandy? I really need that information for my decision.

I honestly don’t know enough about the department to say. You could potentially email some graduate students and ask them about the strength of the program. While they only know it from graduate studies, that will be a good indication of how the undergrad program fares.
