BFA Acting - at a school that encourages Dance and Voice - for a transfer

My D is currently a Freshman at an auditioned BFA Musical Theatre program not ranked among the “top” programs. No need to explain that fit is more important than reputation as I have been around CC for years under a different name (please do not out me if you figure out who I am – I created this alias so my D’s program does not figure out she is likely leaving). She recently admitted to herself and then to her father and me that she is unhappy there and wants to leave. She is not horribly unhappy, but the social life there and the program are not what she was hoping for. For now I won’t go into details of her issues, but I do understand why she is considering a transfer.

The timing is bad since most of the Musical Theatre programs have finished with their auditions. I assume the same is true for most BFA Acting programs. Am I wrong?

We are very hesitant to encourage a year off for our D. She does much better around peers and in a structured environment. So, I am writing to ask for help on two fronts:

1 - I did all my research last year on Musical Theatre programs. She still wants to develop her skills in Acting, Dance and Voice, in an environment surrounded by talented kids with a commitment to performance, but the name of the degree matters less to her now that she is maturing. Are there programs that offer a BFA Acting which encourage Dance and Voice training? Where there is no Musical Theatre major? And where they produce musicals?

2 - Are there any programs you know of that are still auditioning for Transfer students?

3 - Are there any intense 1-year conservatory training programs that would allow her to be in a structured environment with peers, but still enable her to do her auditions again in the Spring?

I am aware that as a transfer student, she would likely lose credits. We are OK with that. I am sure some of her credits would transfer and obviously if there are programs that would allow her to graduate in a total of 4-5 years, it would be preferable to one that will take 6 (if she waits until next year to audition and starts over as a Freshman). FYI, she is a B student. Her college average is 3.4ish.

I welcome your thoughts on various options, tips on any programs you know of that particularly welcome transfers (especially taking credits), new ideas of how my D could spend this in-between year if she doesn't manage to make a transfer before the next season of auditions. After going through all this just a year ago, I can't believe we may be doing it again. Any other parents out there whose child is also going through this, I would love to hear your plans.

Western Carolina still has 2 audition dates left and they make it easy for transfers. They have both acting and MT. Gorgeous campus, affordable.

Thanks @mtmom2014 - Do you have a child there? Can you offer any insight into the culture of the program and the school?

Yes, my daughter and her two best friends are all transfers there. They study very hard with the goal to work professionally. They all seem close knit as many MT groups get and the campus is lovely, but hard to get to! An hour outside Asheville. If you would like more info, message me. I can also have my D answer questions. If you audition in April you can see their production of Les Miz.
