BFA Acting Class of 2025: preparation, prescreens, auditions, questions and support

Not to stress anyone out, but I saw on another thread that someone got an offer from Carnegie this week. It may have been for MT. Anyone here heard from them?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone who was invited to Rutgers callbacks this weekend has received a schedule yet. D rsvped last week but still hasn’t gotten a response with a schedule… Or do they generally wait to the last minute? Thanks!

Waiting on schedule for Rutgers final callback too

Thank you! Good to know!

DS got his “no” for CMU acting today on Get Acceptd. Taking it in stride and happily focusing on the offers he has on hand.
Good Luck everyone!

No schedule yet! Supposed to go on Saturday but we were hoping she would still be able to work/go to rehearsals that day…???

Also wondering! My D did not ask about decisions

Mine hasn’t gotten anything yet. She is in the Sunday group.

Hey ya’ll. My D got a call from TXST acting today, just FYI. I’m pretty sure they are releasing those decisions fairly slowly.

My daughter was offered a spot into the BFA Acting program at CSUF as a freshman. Couldn’t be more proud! What a process. Best of luck to everyone.

Okay, I know everyone is focused on acceptances right now, but I have a question that has been bugging me. Does anyone else wonder if the schools that ask for extra essays and such actually look at them, or do they just want to see who will put in the extra work? I’m talking about things like artistic statements, etc. None of the schools made any indication that they had glanced at my Ds essays during her interviews.

UNCSA and Texas State had both read my daughter’s supplemental essays and discussed topics from them with her during her audition.

Did you guys ever get a callback schedule from Rutgers? My D is there in Lighting Design, if you have any questions (other than why didn’t they send a schedule sooner ).

My D was asked about some of her extra materials at several interviews.

@Loganator Thank you for replying! She did get a schedule on Thursday evening I believe. Phew! It actually makes sense that it would be last minute—lots of juggling with classes and kids etc.—I was just worried that her rsvp had accidentally gone to an internet black hole and we would never know. Now if D can only get some sleep tonight lol.

@fatcatpr Actually, my daughter was asked a question specifically about one of her supplementals in her audition interview with Columbia College in Chicago (if I recall correctly). She was soooo thrilled to talk about it  Not sure if that happened with any other schools though.

My D was asked about her artistic/program essay at UNCSA, Columbia College, and Muhlenberg.
