BHP Interviews

well I just got off from work and had my interview... and it was pretty similar to UZ's experience.... except for the flaky interviewer haha we had a different person.

and mine took around 15 minutes as well - four questions & a Q&A at the end. my person seemed pretty young and talked about himself for a bit... he's had four incredible jobs and works with oil companies now.

I'm really not sure what they were supposed to learn through the interview that they couldn't have gotten from our applications to begin with... but whatever it was fun and I'm done.

So to all of you who have already been contacted about an interview, did you apply before November 1 for early consideration? I applied 11/23 so if I am lucky enough to qualify for an interview, about when would that be?

Out-of-state female
SAT: 2300 (700 CR, 800 M, 800 W)
GPA: 4.0
Rank: school does not rank but would be tied for first
2 leadership positions, good essays, good recommendations

Can I expect to get into BHP?

hello1991, you really should have asked this in another thread. You have some pretty amazing stats there and I think you have a good shot at getting in.

Thanks, I was just really worried because everyone was saying they got interviews and I haven't, but I guess they applied early consideration. Is there any extra scholarship money for BHP?

At a lunch thing with a BHP academic advisor, he said that when you apply to BHP, you are automatically considered for some limited BHP scholarships that's not in the common app scholarship application. They may give it to you when you matriculate, or they may give it to you during the middle of your freshmen or sophomore year, you'll never know.

Does anyone know when EC decisions will come out?

I was told a few weeks ago via email that EC applicants will hear back around the first of the year.

Ok, so I applied EC and ended up submitting my application on October 30th. I was wondering if anyone knew if they were still doing any interviews because I still haven't received an e mail and am major-ly stressing!!

Here are my stats:

SAT
(Math 660, Verbal 700, Writing 800)
Class Rank: 14 out of 700
Lots of extracurricular involvement and plenty of leadership...
Good essays and recommendation
AP tests- four 5's out of five tests

I know that my math SAT is a little low, but could this really have kept me from getting an interview?? I had lunch with a BHP recruiter in October who was "very impressed" by me...could this possibly be considered an interview?

Please help...I'm trying to brace myself for rejection but I don't want to give up hope just yet :(

At the lunch I went to, they said interviews are often delayed b/c of busy interviewers passing the buck to another. The interview itself is a specific set of questions by phone, so the lunch isn't it. So good luck? Sorry really don't know what to say.
