Has anyone been contacted about the BHP interview yet?

I haven't...

my app was completed on Oct 31 though...i don't think this helped either.

I haven't gotten anything apart from an "informational BHP brunch" in the dallas area.

hah I sent in my app extremely late in Oct as well... eek I didn't realize that december was creeping up so closely! It doesn't seem to me that they have time to schedule an interview this late when decisions come out so soon - like a month away from now, right?

No, I'm almost a 100% sure you have to have an interview for BHP to be accepted, unless they changed it. I think I read that somewhere on their website though.

oh you're right, cougar... at the BHP thing they said they will select BHP candidates to interview by phone - they'll contact you by email most likely to schedule it. She said they try to get these out before the holidays and that they haven't contacted anyone yet, so we're in the clear haha.

bustofpallas...would that be thanksgiving holidays?

It would have to be because if you applied by november 1, don't you have to hear back by mid-december?

That's what I thought, but I've looked all over the UT site and cannot find a page that specifically says decisions are out by mid-december. I asked my UT admissions officer this last week when she came to my school, and she seemed surprised that I hadn't been contacted. She did say, though, that we'd know about BHP decisions before Christmas.

Haha well thats a little unsettling.... Hopefully we'll eventually get phone calls, keep me updated

The representative didn't quite specify whether she meant thanksgiving or winter holidays but I looked at the UT calendar... UT's semester ends on December 5th, so it's really only a week of difference.

If it means anything... she really downplayed the role of the interview in the admissions process. They basically just want to be able to speak to you and get a sense of how you present yourself.

Even if we don't get contacted about interviews until December, I can definitely see UT being able to process decisions quickly and before Christmas... I mean my apply tx app went through like lightning!

Goodness that makes me feel better. Both my friend and I have applied to BHP and have yet to get interviews which was rather unsettling. I hope we'll all get an email!

I sent in a query about decision time for BHP today and already received a prompt and courteous reply that we should "expect to hear something around the first of the year, but we can not guarantee an exact date."

This is a great thread...make sure to post if y'all hear anything new!

a guy called me last Wednesday to set up an interview for BHP this week

I got my email today!

"Hello, I will be your interviewer for the UT business honors program. Please suggest a time next week when you would be available to have a 20 minute phone interview."

That's a really short interview... mine are usually an hour long, and my shortest has been 45 minutes.

and thanks to UHSdebater for the update :D

Also received an email today! :)

lucky! I'll keep my fingers crossed haha where else are y'all applying?

hey bust, we might have the same interviewer. I got exactly the same interviewer. and my interview is tomorrow at 5.

Got a phone call today! I set up an interview for tomorrow night. He said it would take about 15 minutes, which, as someone mentioned earlier is a bit short. Interesting. Ah I'm nervous!

UZ! I haven't talked to you in ages and forgot that you use CC. I'll facebook you sometime haha... when I'm actually supposed to be on the computer.

omigoodness... my interviewer and I exchanged emails EIGHT times before we could figure out a time we were both available. December is not a good time to try to schedule something with a choir kid. I am LEGIT outside of my home more often than in it.

I had my interview today, it was kinda weird, cause at 5, I sat there waiting, waiting waiting and waiting, no one ever called, so I called her at 5:30 and she was like "OMG, it TOTALLY went over my head! I'm moving into Minneapolis and our movers are moving me in and I don't have internet yet!" She said she'll call me back at 6:00, I thought she was gonna reschedule to another time, but when I answered the phone at 6, she caught me off guard and started the interview. apparently she asked someone to print off the questions so she can read it off. the questions were very generic and lame, she didn't appear very enthusiastic, there weren't any small talk at all , she couldn't answer some of my questions and the interview seriously didn't take longer than 20 mins. I think my was around 15. There were only about 4 questions I think.
