Bicycle

Does anyone know where I can get my son an inexpensive bike to ride to campus next year? When we visited USC, many kids rode bikes, and they all had these no gear, peddle brake bikes.

I know they sell them at the bookstore, but I have no idea of the cost.

craigslist. there are a million bike shops in the miami area though. it sounds like you’re describing a fixie bike, which can get a bit expensive.

No gears, pedal brakes…hmmm, Schwinn from the 1950’s - maybe a vintage shop ;)

I was actually on campus this past weekend, getting all my son’s stuff into storage. I took DinDune’s advice, and asked at the bookstore. They said that they do have a vendor onsite in the fall selling them (I don’t remember seeing them this past fall). I also was looking at the bikes that were around campus, and there were quite a few like I’m looking for. I guess Craigslist is a good plan B.

Thanks everyone!

You are talking about fixies aka fixed gear bikes aka track bikes.
It’s a trendy thing for students to have.
They look amazing tho…and they are super fun to ride.
I will be bringing mine nxt year to UM
