Big 4 Internship

Hey guys, I'm about to start my Junior year at the University of Nebraska and I'm double majoring in Accounting and Finance. It will take me 5 years to graduate because of the 150 hour CPA requirement. Should I be looking to apply for summer internships between my Junior and Senior year or should I hold off and try to get an internship the summer before I graduate? Thanks.

Talk to the recruiters and see when they take interns. At my school, most of them won’t give you an internship until after your 4th year out of 5.

MRoCkEd is correct. Although, KPMG does the corporate management internship between 3rd and 4th year, which all but guarantees you an internship the following summer in your choice of practice.

in my state, big 4 recruiters consider you for internships until the summer before you graduate with cpa eligibility.

with that said, LOOK for other internships at different companies throughout college. you don’t want to end up waiting on getting an internship, putting all your hopes in a big4 internship, and then not getting it…
hint that happens to the majority accounting students **

get an internship in an accounting/finance department…and hey, you may end up really liking it. You always have lateer to try to get the big 4 internship the summer b4 u graduate, if thats what you decide you wanna do.
