I'll show you an example. These resumes are those excepted into the workshop. My resume is getting there, though I don't have the interships, my GPA is becoming competitive, and my particpation on campus is really good, I think I may have a legit shot of actually getting accepted into the workshop when I transfer there.

I got a bit of info on TA for the guys/girls interested. I talked to an Ernst & Young recruiter at the Inroads career fair the other day and she said that you can get hired directly into T&A but there are fewer spots so more competition she talked about how most people intern at audit for one summer then intern for transactional advisory also for a summer. But you can make the jump directly just a little more difficult.

typically what majors do the big 4's look for?

They look for finance majors.

My son is already at Indiana University and is looking at the IBW program--and meeting with the gentleman who runs the program this week. (His current GPA will probably be around 3.62 to 3.65 after this semester.) Like mssales, he's got another year to go before he can get into the program.

Hey, mssales and tripperian35--long time since I heard from you guys--how is it going at Univ of Texas and at Purdue?

Really? I would've thought accounting would come first. I know theres different job opps at the firms, but I didn't expect to hear finance being first in their books.

P.S.-hey thanks for anwsering my question in the other post.

I'm sorry--we were talking about IB programs here--that's who looks for finance majors.

The big 4 look for accounting majors first--

My mistake for not reading your question more carefully.
