just back off the poor guy and give him your opinions

Does anyone think I have a decent shot at Columbia? The reason I’m asking is because Columbia finally got a hold of my act scores and sent me one of their recruiter emails, which has gotten my hopes up. The only thing that’s keeping me from applying is the fact that they require two sat subject tests with your application, however, I don’t want to take them if I don’t have a shot because none of the other schools on my list require subject tests, and I don’t want to waste time/money. What should I do?

not to crush you papasmurf, but i’ve gotten emails and mail from stanford, harvard, yale, princeton…and i know I don’t have a chance at any of them. Schools send stuff so they can have more applicants and thus, a lower acceptance rate (for the most part - maybe your email was unique).
but i mean, dont let that stop you from applying unless you are really, really against taking those subject tests.
–and, about the math and science center, i was just wondering, we’ve got a few around here too.

Yeah…that’s what I thought about the emails (sigh), but I guess I’ll look into those subject tests since math and science are my best subjects.

anyone else wanna chance me?

“Political correctness is simply a speed BUMP in the traffic of truth, free thought and speech”

^
But necessary to maintain the machinations of social conduct. Would you adopt a non-politically-correct tone on your college apps? I highly doubt it.

That’s not my quote…I was just trying to bump the thread

Then why use it? DDDD:

I like it and I thought it went well with the title of this thread, but you have a good point about social conduct. Touch
