<p>haha, I saw that thread about the recycled questions, i made this thread not to talk about that, but to ask if anybody remembered what they put for the drosophila and ant gamete question because a friend and I got into a heated debate about our answers and were wondering what other people got. I just wrote that thing about Doudna’s affnity for recycling as a transition to the real purpose of the post.</p>

<p>i felt the answer you get depends on how you look at the question. I thought it was asking how many DIFFERENT gametes you could make, so I did 2^8 for the ant, and 4^4 for the drosophila. For this, I got that they’d be the same.Another way you can interpret it is, how many gametes that cell can make, not accounting for different phases the alleles are in on the two chromosomes of each pair. So this way, I think you’d get 2 for ant and 2^4 for drosophila, so drosophila would be 8 times more? I dunno, if anybody is super confident pls help!</p>
<p>i think the stress for 1A is overrated, but definitely not the stress for 1AL, or maybe just cuz I had helen.</p>
<p>i had helen too, for lab, can’t believe they made us pick up our lab practicals right after the lec exam -____- talk about neverending torture</p>
<p>i’m not saying either lec or lab was easy by any means, but i mean the massive amount of stress they put us through is too much… too much emphasis placed on your grades for both of these classes… nobody even cares about physics 8b! haha</p>
