Bio/env. Eng and BME???

<p>Hey guys, I'm kind of confused with the programs cornell offers...here's the problem:
I am interested in BME, but apparently Cornell does not have a specific BME major (?), and when i look on the cornell website, there are two majors as listed:
Biological Engineering College of Engineering
Bio/env. Engineering CALS
Is there any difference between the two?
Is it true that I can choose to do a minor in BME and a 2 semester Masters in Engineering degree in BME???</p>

<p>help me out pls :(</p>

<p>also, i just looked at the BEE website and it says there are actually TWO MAJORS: Biological engineering AND Environmental engineering....while on my app status page it says im in CoE and the major is "Bio and Environ Eng"....so confusing!!!!</p>

<p>I hope this helps some.
The major is technical called "Biological and Environmental Engineering" For the major, you can choose to concentrate more on the Biological side or more on the Environmental side (this just dictates what classes you take when you're an upperclassmen).
I'm majoring in BEE in the college of Engineering. All CALS seniors have to switch into the CoE. The only difference is in terms of requirements the college itself has and tuition (if you live in NY state). I personally am in CoE because I'm out of state and so I'd rather be affiliated with CoE since I am majoring in some sort of Engineering.
Yes, you can do a minor in BME (it's popular) and yes there is a 2 semester MS in BME (you have to apply for that when you're older obviously)</p>

<p>thx galgrl :D it's very clear, but I still have a question:
What major will it say on the diploma? is it BEE? or, as it claims on the BEE dep website that it's either Biological Engineering OR Environmental Engineering?</p>

<p>This is the page where i found out abt the TWO SEPARATE majors:<a href="http://www.bee.cornell.edu/cals/bee/degree-programs/undergraduate/index.cfm%5B/url%5D"&gt;http://www.bee.cornell.edu/cals/bee/degree-programs/undergraduate/index.cfm&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p>

<p>Thanks for ur help!!</p>

<p>I think it's BEE, but I'm not positive. An upperclassmen would probably know the answer to that better than me.
And yeah, I've seen that webpage. Under our engineering handbook it lists BEE and then there's two separate pages, one for BEE and one for the environmental option under BEE. Course-wise the focus is a little different, the enviro. ppl. take more CEE classes, while the bio people take more bio related classes.
Are you going to be coming to Cornell next year?</p>

<p>Thanks for ur reply again. Yea, I'm accepted into CoE, BEE major and im really excited about going there nxt yr :D (even though i have no clue what life at cornell will be like..but hey, that's life! lol)
I'm sorry to ask you so many questions, but Do you know if it's difficult to get into the 2sem masters in BME?</p>

<p>Well congratulations on your acceptance, I'm sure you'll love it here :)
Don't worry, I had a lot of questions too. I don't think it's especially difficult to get the 2 semester masters in BME. You clearly do have to do work, but if you keep your grades up during your undergrad years and get good letters of rec, etc., you should be able to get in. Once you're in, you just need to maintain the GPA and such.</p>
