BIO SAT in OCTOBER

Is anyone else taking it on October 1st?

How are you guys finding time to study? I honestly have no time to study it since I'm looking at Chemistry at school and am only studying Bio over the weekends.

What are you all doing to study?

I think taking it in October was stupidest idea ever. I should have taken my chances and hoped that there were no animal physiology questions, taxonomy, or plants on the test.

:(

I am taking it on October 1st as well, I rarely study these days as I did the majority of the work over the summer and am now occupied with school. What books are you using to study, and how are you studying?

I’m just reading the Barron’s book over on the weekends or whenever I have time, I guess. I borrowed the Princeton Review book from the library and also have the Kaplan book but their information is a lot more heavy; I’m just using Barron’s because it condensed everything and summarized pretty well.

Did you take the Sparknotes Practice Tests? If so, how did you do? I took two of them already and based on their results, I’m not very optimistic.

Did you take the SparkNotes tests online or from the book?

If online, I would add a few points (20-40) to your score as there are a lot of errors in their test. For example, they marked a few questions I got right as incorrect, and one of their questions (the one about pH and lettuce and pigments, if you remember it) was missing some important pieces of information.

I suggest you get the Blue Book (The Official Guide to All Subject Tets) published by the College Board if you want an accurate estimation of your score. I scored a 730 on that one  I’m not quite happy with that and will continue to study over the weekends, which is the only free time I have these days with school and all

I wish you luck on the Bio SAT, on the first of October we will walk in and conquer this test!

Thanks, good luck to you too.

This will be my 2nd time taking the test. I failed horribly and got 700 first time. There’s so much detail oriented questions in bio, some of the questions are basically either you knew this one little specific fact or not. =.

700 is an awesome score, what are you talking about!!! Many of the competitive colleges place more emphasis on Chemistry and Physics Subjects, but acing the Bio test can only help you. Personally i used the “500 questions to know by test day A.P. biology version” from the makers of 5 steps. Since you’ve already taken the course, you should know a majority of the concepts on the test. All you need to do now is practice the specifics. Practice problems seem to help me a lot with all types of tests. “500 questions” gets straight to the point and doesn’t waste time with redundant information. Plus the book is small so you can take it everywhere you go. Good luck, i hope i’ve helped.

No. 700 is horrible. It’s on the 78 percentile.

ONE WEEK LEFT!

Is anyone else excited?
