Biochemical/Biomedical Engineering? Is it a fit?

Hi so I'm a junior (well, I guess a senior now) in high school. I'm interested in the biomedical and biochemical engineering fields. I was just wondering what strengths shoukd I have if I want to do well in these areas? I know I should obviously do well in biology, chemistry, and math but how much does each particular subject matter to each major?

I'm really good at biology (got As both semesters of AP Bio, think I got a 5 on the exam), good at chemistry (only taken a CP class though because honors was full), and my math is okay (got a B first semester and A second semester of precalc, taking AP calc next year) and I got a 620 on my SAT1 (yeah pretty bad...).

I just want to know if I stand a chance of pursuing either one of these majors. Thanks!!

Also, does anyone know if UC Davis' programs in these majors are any good?

Well to do well in BioE your work ethic and determination are really important. Bioe is a new field so the engineering schools only accept highly qualified people. Math is the most important topic in engineering. Specifically calcs 1through 3. If your strong math then physics, mechanics, thermo, and most other classes are applications using calc. So do great Math if you want to be successful in engineering.
