How good whould you say Swats biology program is? I need to stay In the PA/DE area because my therapist and psycologist are here. being a really shy person, finding a new therapist and what not isn't really an option. I want to major In either Biology or Zoology but I am having trouble finding a good small college with a strong biology or zoology program in this area. I would be very apreaciative fro any information.
Thank you very much. ^.^

Swarthmore has an outstanding biology program- you really can’t do much better. Alumni have become leaders in both academic biology, biochemistry etc. (including some nobel prize winners) and medicine.

Agreed–it’s a great department. Current students complain somewhat that there aren’t quite enough microbio professors to meet demand, but in zoology that isn’t going to be as much of an issue for you. Good luck!

Biology is one of Swarthmore’s top departments, a big part of the reason for Swarthmore’s overall strength in the sciences. It’s also an innovative department in terms of undergrad science teaching, with intiatives like the Writing Associates program for intro Bio (to teach how to write lab reports) and the new HHMI funded study group program.
