I am hoping to be a biology major, possibly premed, and I was wondering how strong the program at Wake Forest is? If I choose to apply, is it one that will give me a good chance of medical school admissions? Thanks a lot!

The biology department is top-notch. Wake Forest is affiliated with Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center too, so there are plenty of research opportunities available. As far as medical school goes, Wake’s average is quite a bit better than the national average. This data shows 70% vs. 45.7% in 2009:

And there are some pretty impressive medical schools on that list.

thanks a lot!

Wilmingtonwave, since you are apparently familiar with the Biology dept and the premed route. Can you speak to the fact that Wake has a huge reputation for grade deflation? Thats a little bit scary when the Premed track is hard enough already. Whats your experience with this?

Thanks
