got an invite from UCSF tetrad today, as did a couple other people that I know...now I just have to figure out how I can miss 2 consecutive weeks of school

I finally heard back from UW-Madison CMB today by e-mail! WOOT! I'm interviewing at the end of February. And that concludes the reach schools I really care about - I'd rather go to either of the UWs than Harvard or UCBerkeley.

Oh, and the Yale lady e-mailed me back to give me a second recruitment weekend option... I guess I got pushed into one weekend because I never got a phone call, and never got the chance to hear I had a choice.

Got an email from Stanford...

Applied: MIT, Harvard (MCB and BBS), Yale (MCBGD), Stanford (Bio), Rockefeller, Hopkins

Interviews: Stanford (Biology)

Accepted: Yale (MCBGD)

ec1234, i got a call from UCSF tetrad today also. which weekend are you going to?

The second weekend, as I also have a stanford interview and am from the east coast, so I guess I'm just going west for a week

Finally heard from TSRI today!!

Congrats to all! Lucky Stanford interviewees, which home programs did you apply to? I know that Genetics has responded, but I wonder about the rest. Maybe there's still hope! (...or not :P)

P.S. - I've been posting on thegradcafe - it'll be easier for next year's round of students to search through. (Did anyone try to read that 90+ page thread from last year? Yikes.)

Anyone heard from Columbia BMS?Still waiting...

Got accepted from U. Chicago today.

Congradulations

Everyone congrats for getting interviews from all the top notch schools. :)

hello everyone -

i'm new to this site, but i was confused about yale's bbs interview/recruitment system. i applied (under bbs) to the microbiology track, which has something called 'recruitment weekend' feb 14-16. is this like a standard interview weekend? i have seen that some people on this forum are accepted to yale bbs, but had thought that all yale bbs tracks first interview candidates? (maybe really good ones get in without interview?) i suppose it must vary a lot across programs. but basically, i'm not quite sure what they've invited me for...does anyone know if these weekends are more like visits or interviews that they use to eliminate people? anything you know about these recruitment weekends would be great to hear, since the info they send is a little sparse.

thanks for your help - and good luck to everyone :)

applied: UCSF, UCB, UCSD, Stanford, Rockefeller, MIT, Harvard
Accepted:
Interviews: UCSD (notified 12/14, interview 3/6), Stanford Cancer Bio (1/9)
rejected:

The e-mail I received from Yale said "we anticipate that nearly all visitors will receive offers of admission."

hi applygrad - to which track did you apply? maybe interview policies vary across the bbs tracks? thanks! (and congrats on your interview)

Hi!

Ive been stalking these forums for a bit now, just got an interview at UCSF (Tetrad) today...has anyone heard from Stanford Biochem or MCB, or just the other programs under the Biosciences umbrella? Just a quick thanks to everyone posting here, its nice to find some comraderie in the agony of waiting to hear from these schools!!

Applied: UCSF (Tetrad), UCB (MCB), Stanford (Biochem, MCB, Cancer), Harvard (MCB), MIT (Biology)
Interview: UCSF (1/11)

Applied: Harvard (HILS-Genetics and Systems), MIT (Genetics), Rockefeller, Stanford (Genetics, Biochem, Cancer Biology), UCSF (Tetrad), Berkeley (MCB), UWashington (Genomics), NYU (Functional Genomics)
**
Acceptances:** Rockefeller (12/21)

Interviews: UW (1/08), Stanford (Genetics) 1/10, UCSF (Tetrad) 1/11, Harvard (Systems Bio) 1/11

Have you guys been receiving interview invitations from Stanford, Harvard, etc. via email? Since I have still not heard from these schools, should I assume that it would be a rejection? I am getting really worried as these 2 are my top priorities and I havnt heard from either. I apologize but I cannt help be a pessimist in these cases. :(

I got both interview invites via email-- the harvard is systems biology though, not the larger BBS program. Systems does interviews, so I would imagine that they let you know earlier. Stanford was genetics, and it seemed to be very department specific, even within the larger biosciences program

hi tvgradschool, Congrats on your interviews!!!! Which program did you apply to at UCSD?
